  San Sebastian -- The Vans Pro Junior, an Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-1 event, got underway today at San Sebastian just across the French border, inaugurating the crucial summer junior leg in Europe. The Vans Pro Junior, which is the first of four consecutive events taking place until August 24, got through Rounds 1 and 2 and and ran Heats 1 to 4 of Round 3 for an opening 28-heat marathon day.
• Small surf kicks off Reef Wetsuits South African Champs
  24 July, 2008 : - - The 2008 Reef Wetsuits South African Surfing Championships got under way at Victoria Bay today (Thursday) with competitors in the early rounds of the Men's and Under 20 Girls Divisions putting on some outstanding performances despite having to deal with close-to-the-rocks conditions in the 2 foot surf.

  24 July, 2008 : - - After a brief hiatus, the Blowfish Surf Series retuned to D street in Encinitas to kick off the season opener. As soon as we pulled up to the beach at 6am, we knew we had made the right call, as empty 3-5 ft peaky A frames came rolling through. With competitors already showing up, we had to set up quick for a full day of debauchery and shredding.
